Today is National Poetry Day in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The day of poetry readings and promotions began in 1994. Every year there is a different theme. The theme for 2017 is Freedom. Here’s poet and songwriter Jack Slater reciting his poem “Freedom” to celebrate the day!
